Summer reception, IAESTE UK

During the summer months IAESTE UK, based in the British Council, held several summer receptions for Employers, Academics and in coming trainees from all over the world. The first was hosted in Stormont by Sir Reg Empey, Minister for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland . There two long standing Employers, Hobart and Heron Architects and Ulster Carpets were presented with the International IAESTE Award by the General Secretary, Mrs Pauline Ferguson, for their contribution and support of IAESTE in Northern Ireland.



A week later Mr Roy Cross, Director of the British Council in Edinburgh hosted an afternoon reception in the University of Edinburgh for the IAESTE trainees in Scotland. Since IAESTE UK opened an office in Edinburgh the programme has grown and been very successful in its first year of operation.



At the end of July there was a large turn out of Trainees, Academics and Employers at a Reception at Imperial College in London, where the Association was founded nearly 60 years ago.
