IAESTE Romania Volunteer group formed
Following the interest of IAESTE Romania’s Administrator, Mr.Daniel Comsa, in forming a well-structured team of volunteers to support IAESTE Romania, a recruitment process has been initiated at the University of Ion Mincu for Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest with the help of the IAESTE Global Support Team (GST) The results have impressed those of us who have been working for IAESTE Romania, with a total number of applications of more than 100 students.
Several seminars and workshops have been held for the applicants to bring awareness about the role of a volunteer in IAESTE and the effectiveness and impact the work of an IAESTE volunteers team would have on their lives, their universities and their countries. This resulted in enlisting 42 out of the applying students into the first official IAESTE Romania Volunteer Team.
The team has held a full-day kick-off workshop with a trainer from the GST, where we received training in planning and management, designed our mission statement, voted on our structure, and divided the tasks among ourselves, after analysing the situation professionally.
Currently, the team is going to tackle the issues of raising the quality of our exchange, as well as the number of offers, in addition to increasing our local visibility by planning activities and creating partnerships with other student organisations, and also by trying to expand our presence to include more of Romania’s technical universities.
Our team is now full of motivation and ready to welcome you and your trainees for an unforgettable Summer Reception experience, along with several other events and surprises to be announced in the following months. We also hope to meet the whole IAESTE community at our international events and conferences.
