66th Annual Conference, Belfast 2013
The 66th IAESTE Annual Conference took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland from 18-25 January 2013. The conference saw over 250 delegates from around 80 countries come together for a week of exchanging traineeships and General Conference sessions. During the week over 4000 traineeships were exchanged, providing exciting, rewarding opportunities for many students around the world.
As well as the exchange sessions, members also attended General Conference sessions where important matters regarding the association were discussed and voted upon. We are pleased to share that IAESTE Belarus, United Arab Emirates and Panama were given full-member status and IAESTE Peru and IAESTE Tanzania were given Associate Member status at the conference. We are also pleased to welcome new Cooperating Institutions from Liberia, Bolivia and Albania.
One of the highlights of the week was the gala dinner which took place at the Titanic Signature Building. Conference participants, supporters of IAESTE, including local employers enjoyed an evening of great food, great company and a wonderful concert given by the Belfast Community Gospel Choir. By the end of the evening, everyone was on their feet, doing the IAESTE dance, and looking forward to meeting again in Ecuador in 2014.
